He is also the former chairman of the environment committee at the All India Plastic Manufacturers Association (AIPMA) since 2013 through 2018.

Pratibha Sharma has over 9 years of experience, primarily working on solid waste management (SWM) sector, with International Zero Waste Network and Wastepickers’ Organizations in India. Currently, she is working as a Project Officer for Plastic Waste Recycling Management Programme at United Nations Development Programme, India.

Previously she has worked with Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives (GAIA), an international network of more than 800 grassroot organizations working towards environmental justice, sustainable development, and human rights. As a Country Coordinator, Pratibha supported the national zero waste movement in India through research and advocacy, knowledge sharing, and member connect. She specializes in design, implementation and advocacy of decentralized zero waste systems with focus on recycling, informal sector inclusion, and organics waste management.

Pratibha is passionate about building decentralized and participatory governance structures for SWM policy implementation and strengthening capacity of Grassroots Communities and Urban Local Bodies. Through numerous public lectures, workshops, and study tours, Pratibha has facilitated knowledge exchange for diverse stakeholder groups like Government Officials, Private Sector, Academicians, Civil Society at various Regional and International platforms, including COP 21. She also authored a few publications on waste and informal sector.

An engineer turned development professional, Pratibha holds a Bachelor of Technology Degree from National Institute of Technology, Surat and a Post-graduation degree in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. Her interest areas include circular economy, sustainable livelihoods, social inclusion and a range of issues at the intersection of gender equality, women’s rights and climate justice.

Shishir Joshi is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Project Mumbai, an award winning not for profit Public Trust. And a model of Public-Private-People participation.

A TEDxSpeaker, Shishir believes in social transformation through initiatives of scale.

In February this year, Shishir was conferred with the iVolunteer Hero of the year 2019, as ‘acknowledgement to his Exemplary contribution to India’s Social Development’.

Two years ago too, he was awarded the Special Jury Prize by iVolunteer for his initiatives of social transformation by scale.

More recently, he galvanized 85,000 citizens to donate their plastic. The live plastic collection will partly form a permanent work of art in the BKC in Mumbai while most of the donated plastic will get recycled in the form of benches for senior citizens across the gardens of Mumbai. A project supported by the MCGM. This initiative is now being scaled up in the second year, making it another massive Public Private People Participation. Currently, under healthcare, Shishir is creating a multi-lingual navigation system for the civic hospitals of Mumbai, which will help hundreds of thousands of people who visit Mumbai's municipal hospitals. A mental wellness program, covering over 1200 Mumbai schools and close to 3 lakh children, and setting up a toll-free helpline on counselling are other areas he is engaged in.

Shishir also heads Muskaan Sharing smiles, another a not for profit which works to make the lives of underprivileged children better, as its Chairman. In his previous role, as a full time CEO of think tank Mumbai First, which he quit in 2017, he helped set-up the War room for the Government of Maharashtra. Its role being to fast-track infrastructure initiatives across Mumbai and Maharashtra. It reports to the Chief Minister, Maharashtra and considered one of the milestones in the Government's list of achievements. There, he co-led over 25000 volunteers to beautify 36 Railway stations of Mumbai within a span of one week, arguably one of the most ambitious Public Private People initiatives in India within such a short duration. n an earlier avataar, he has co-led a unique citizen journalism teaching program, empowering citizens in the hundreds across seven states of India.
